Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using AnimeTracker you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use AnimeTracker. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have permission from a parent or guardian.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Post content that is illegal, abusive, harassing, threatening, or hateful.
  • Target, harass, or intimidate specific users through posts, replies, or reposts.
  • Impersonate other users, public figures, or AnimeTracker staff.
  • Post spam, chain messages, or repetitive content designed to flood the feed.
  • Coordinate inauthentic behaviour such as artificially inflating likes or reposts.
  • Upload images or GIFs containing nudity, graphic violence, or illegal content.
  • Scrape, crawl, or send automated requests to the service.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service.
  • Use the service to distribute malware or phishing content.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of content you create on AnimeTracker, including posts, replies, quote posts, reposts, comments, list notes, and any images you upload. By submitting content you grant AnimeTracker a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, display, and distribute that content as part of the service — including when other users embed or share your posts.

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms without prior notice. Removing your account or deleting a post removes it from public display; copies that others have reposted or embedded may persist until those posts are also removed.

6. Social Features

AnimeTracker includes a public social feed where users can create posts, reply to posts, repost or quote-post others' content, and react with likes. By posting to the feed you acknowledge:

  • Posts are public by default and visible to all visitors, including those not logged in.
  • Other users may repost or quote-post your content within the platform.
  • Posts can be embedded on external websites using the embed feature.
  • You control who can reply to your posts (Everyone, People you follow, or Only people you mention), but this does not restrict visibility of the post itself.

7. Media Uploads and GIFs

You may attach images (JPEG, PNG, WebP, or GIF, up to 8 MB) to posts. Uploaded images are stored on Cloudflare R2 and served via our CDN. You may also attach GIFs sourced through the built-in Giphy search; by selecting a GIF you agree to Giphy's Terms of Service. You must own or have the right to share any image you upload.

8. Content Moderation

We do not proactively review all posts but will act on reports of content that violates these terms. If your content is removed you will not receive automatic notification. Repeated violations may result in account suspension or termination.

9. Third-Party Data

Anime and manga metadata is sourced from MyAnimeList (via the Jikan API) and AniList. Cover images and information remain the property of their respective rights holders. AnimeTracker is a fan project and is not affiliated with any content studio or distributor.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these terms. You may delete your account at any time from your settings page.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

AnimeTracker is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that the service will be free of errors.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AnimeTracker is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including damages arising from content posted by other users.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
