Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account we collect your name and email address, either directly or via an OAuth provider (Google, Discord, etc.). We also store:

• The anime and manga you add to your library, including your scores and progress.
• Comments, list notes, and ratings you submit.
• Social feed content: posts, replies, quote posts, reposts, and likes, including any images you upload or GIFs you attach.
• Follow relationships (who you follow and who follows you).
• Activity generated by the above actions (your activity feed).
• Notification preferences and account settings.

2. Public Content

Posts you publish to the social feed are public by default and visible to all visitors, including those who are not logged in. Your username, avatar, library statistics, and activity feed are also publicly visible on your profile page. Likes and follow counts are visible to other logged-in users. If you delete a post, it is removed from the feed, but copies that other users have reposted may remain until those posts are also deleted.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and personalise the service (your library, dashboard, recommendations).
• To display your public profile, activity feed, and social posts to other users.
• To send essential service emails (password reset, episode alerts, security notices).
• To compute leaderboard rankings and achievements.
• To aggregate anonymous usage statistics to improve the site.

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share data only with the infrastructure providers necessary to run the service:

• Neon / Postgres — primary database storing your account, library, posts, and all user-generated content.
• Cloudflare R2 — CDN storage for images you upload in posts, as well as anime and manga cover images we mirror from third-party APIs.
• Hetzner / Ploi.io — hosting infrastructure and deployment management.
• Giphy — when you use the GIF search in the post composer, your search query is sent to the Giphy API. Giphy may log these requests per their own privacy policy.

These providers are contractually bound to keep your data confidential and may not use it for their own purposes.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers in the United States. We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed credentials, and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, however.

6. Cookies and Analytics

We use session cookies to keep you logged in. We use Vercel Analytics for anonymous page-view statistics — no personally identifiable information is included. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, library entries, and posts are removed from the database. Uploaded images stored in Cloudflare R2 are deleted within 30 days of account deletion. Anonymised aggregate statistics (e.g. total site-wide post counts) may be retained indefinitely.

8. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at the email below. You may also delete your account from your settings page, which will remove your library, posts, and profile data.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on the site or sending an email to your registered address.
